Government is firm in its commitment to control corruption: Prime Minister Oli
Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is firm in its commitment to prevent, control and end any kind of corruption.
Explaining the purpose and reason for the amendment of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2059 in today’s meeting of the State Order and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives, he reiterated that the current government is committed to eradicating corruption.
Prime Minister Oli said, “Zero tolerance towards corruption is the policy of the government. To fulfill the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’, corruption control is mandatory. I don’t do corruption, I don’t let others do it either.”
Emphasizing that the law amendment is necessary to control corruption and maintain good governance, the Prime Minister said that his goal is to move the country forward on the path of prosperity. Stating that the government is active by keeping the country and the people at the center, Prime Minister Oli said that ensuring social justice and maintaining peace and security is the first responsibility of the government.
He said, “This government is not made for revenge, economic development is its goal. No intention to hurt anyone. The face of corruption is not seen.” Prime Minister Oli said that the government is trying to establish the belief that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.
